“Golden Motion” marks Imitation Gold’s return to 70s-inspired disco, combining funk guitar, melodic bass, orchestral strings, brass, electric piano, and modern nu-disco production.
Built from an instrumental foundation and expanded through multiple extensions, the track develops gradually over a long-form arrangement. Short vocal phrases, scat singing, and three-part harmonies function as part of the groove rather than as a conventional lyrical narrative.
The song avoids a dramatic EDM drop. Instead, momentum is created by adding and removing instruments, shifting melodic roles, and allowing the central groove to evolve over time.
