Imitation Gold
Liner Notes / Imitation Gold — “Mirrorball Circuit”
As the second track on Golden Motion, “Mirrorball Circuit” carries the album’s glamorous opening into a lighter, more immediate dance-floor setting. It puts the snap of slap bass, four-on-the-floor kick drums, and sharp funk guitar at the front, letting the groove unfold over an extended structure in the spirit of a 1970s disco twelve-inch.
Groove and Arrangement
The arrangement builds over the steady floor created by bass and kick, adding guitar stabs, synth brass, and brief string accents. Rather than relying on a dramatic EDM drop, it creates momentum through instruments entering and leaving, filtered passages, breaks, and renewed acceleration.
As the song moves into its second half, the recurring phrase “Mirrorball light” grows denser like a field of rotating reflections. The track then fades naturally, leaving its bass, guitar, and percussion groove in motion.
Voices as Rhythm
The vocals work as rhythmic material as much as they do as narrative. Short phrases such as “La-la electric,” “Ooh, keep it moving,” and “Mirrorball circuit” pass between three voices; unison lines, harmonies, and ad-libs make the voices part of the percussion and brass texture.
A Modern 70s Disco
Imitation Gold’s third album does not simply look back to the performance feel of 1970s disco. It relocates mirrorball reflections, repeating bass lines, and body-moving kick drums within the clean low end and space of Nu-Disco and House. “Mirrorball Circuit” is its lightest expression of that meeting point.

歌詞
La-la electric
La-la electric
Ooh, keep it moving
Ooh, keep it moving
Round and round, mirrorball light
Feel that little spark
La-la-la, la-la-la, electric
All through the night (la-la-la-la-la)
Ooh-la-la (ta-da-da-da)
Ooh-la-la
Turn it around
Round and round and round
La-la electric shining tonight
Ooh-la-la-la-la
Ooh, keep it moving
Ooh, keep it moving
Mirrorball light all through the night
Ooh-la-la, ooh-la-la
Spin it around, higher now, higher now
La-la electric never slow down
Can you feel it? Feel it now
Can you feel it? Feel it now
Mirrorball circuit round and round
La-la electric, la-la electric
Round and round, round and round
Mirrorball light all through the night
Feel the circuit grow
Keep it moving, keep it moving
La-la electric shining tonight
Ooh-la-la, ooh-la-la
Turn it around, higher now, higher now
Mirrorball circuit round and round
Can you feel it? Feel it now
Can you feel it? Feel it now
Mirrorball circuit all through the night
La-la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la-la
